IMAGE GUIDELINES (Back to top)

We understand the importance of accurate representation of your work, but we receive hundreds of photos. Following the guidelines below will ensure a smooth process for all of us!  There is additional information/ clarification here: "Image Help"

  • Provide only one photo/image per entry. You may submit up to three entries per application.

  • Photos should be supplied in JPG or TIF format and must not have been edited in any way*. In other words - we need the original, straight-out-of-the-camera photo.  You may include an edited version of your bead photo – in addition to the original photograph – for the layout designer to use as reference for color accuracy.

  • Photo must be at least 900 pixels (or 3"/7.6cm at 300 dpi resolution) on its shortest side. This doesn't not mean to crop the image (which, of course, is considered editing), just ensure the photo is large enough.

  • Use neutral backgrounds - white, black or gray - solid or gradient

  • Do not include excessive background area in your photos or the final bead image size may be too small. Bead images which are too small will not be suitable for publication.

Feel free to e-mail Julie Ferguson if you have any questions about the image guidelines.

* For more info on what makes a photo "edited", visit the FAQs and read my latest rant :) or feel free to e-mail me - Julie Ferguson - if you have any questions about the image guidelines or any other aspect of your BR3 submission.
